PRINTING QUESTIONS


What is the least expensive t-shirt?
The least expensive shirt is a white shirt, 5.5 oz. weight, with a front or back only print. There are many other inexpensive options, depending on what you are looking for. Talk to one of our shirt pros and we will help you pick the right item for your project.

What variables affect the price of garments?
There are many factors that affect the price of your job, including the amount of colors in the print, the total quantity of garments, the number of print locations, and the garment color are just a few of the variables.

Can I combine different styles of garments in one order?
Yes, and for example, if you order 48 shirts and 24 sweatshirts, you will still get the 72 quantity price. This applies as long as the design is exactly the same.

Can I combine different colors of garments in one order?
Yes, and for example, if you order 48 shirts and 24 sweatshirts, you will still get the 72 quantity price. This applies if you use the same design on all shirts. Also, you can change the imprint color for a nominal fee.

What are the quantity price breaks?
The breaks are for total quantity. For example 48 tank tops and 96 t-shirts is under the 144 break if the design is the same on all shirts. The breaks are at: 12, 24, 36, 72, 144, 288, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, etc. If you have a project somewhere in the middle, just let us know and we will gladly accommodate any quantity you need.

What is the largest print area?
The largest standard print area depends on the quantity. For 12-71, the max size is 14” wide x 16” tall. For greater than 72, it is 15.5” wide x 17.5” tall.

How large should my logo be?
If you are looking for a standard size, we generally recommend the following: Left Chest: 3.5” to 4” wide Full Front: 10” to 12” wide Full Back: 12” to 14” wide One of our shirt pros will assist you in choosing the perfect size graphic for your garment.

Can you match Pantone colors?
Yes, we can almost match Pantone colors. Due to the process we can only get very close, not an exact match. The cost for this is $25.00. When choosing colors, please use Pantone Uncoated swatches.

Can I get specialty inks?
Oh yes, and the options are plentiful. You can use shimmer, glitter, puff, glow-in-the-dark, and many others. Speak to one of our shirt pros for more information and pricing.

Is black an ink color?
Yes, any color printed on the shirt is considered an imprint color.

Can I print a photograph on a shirt?
Yes, please talk to one of our shirt pros to learn about the options when getting a photograph printed.

How many ink colors can you print?
We can print up to 6 colors per design.

How do I go about getting a design to or from YouNeedShirts.com?
There are many different ways to get a design for your project and it depends on your situation. If you have an idea or a sketch for art or you need help completing art you already have, speak with one of our designers and we can assist you however you need. If you have finished art already, please email it to us and we will take a look at it.

Do you have an online design feature?
Sorry, we have opted out on such a feature. These programs tend to limit the creative process and don’t allow a full range of design options. We prefer to help you with your design and let our experienced designers create the design that is just right for you. Trust us, you will thank us later!

Will I see a proof before you print?
Definitely! We will always send you a proof before we print, that way you know it will be just right. If you wish to not have a proof, please let us know when placing your order.

What format does the art need to be in?
We can view almost any file format to get you a quote or use it to re-create into printable art. For print ready art, we generally need the file in a vector format. Preferably an Adobe Illustrator file. Please save as an .EPS file and outline all fonts. There are some situations where we can use other formats, just send us what you’ve got and one of our designers will discuss what we can do with what you have.

How large should my logo be?

What is the minimum order?
Only 12 pieces, but the higher the total quantity the better the price gets!

What is your turnaround time?
Our standard turnaround time is 5 days. If you need it faster, let us know and we will let you know what we can do. Better yet, we almost never charge a rush fee.

Is your work guaranteed?
Yes, our work is guaranteed in two ways, by us and you. You will always approve the design before we print, so you know exactly what you are getting. Also, if we deliver a product that is defective or not what you approved, we will gladly replace it or refund your money.

What are your office hours?
We are open from 8am – 5pm PST, Monday – Friday.

What finishing services do you provide?
We can add your neck tag to your garment, add hang tags, and fold and bag each shirt.

Can I get a sample of a t-shirt before I order?
We can send you a random printed sample of a shirt and a catalog for $10, and you get the $10 back on your first order.

Can I see my logo printed on a garment before I place my order?
Yes, we can do a printed sample of your project. The cost is $50 for the sample, plus $25 per color per side for the screens. You will get the screens refunded when you place the full order.

Do you embroider garments?
Definitely, we can embroider on shirts, polos, hats, bags and many other items.

What other services do you offer?
We have many other in-house services. We can print on paper and signs too, just check out our sister company at www.imageonenow.com.

What forms of payment do you take?
We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

What are my shipping/pick-up options?
You can pick-up your order during our normal business hours. If you would like the order shipped to you we generally use UPS, but can use FedEx upon request. We can also use your account if you prefer.
